We had our accountant mail out a mid year statement as well as a letter to everyone who gave this year and then a different letter to those who gave last year but not this year. We included a break down of what we needed ie... 1 donor to give $10,000, 5 donors to give $5,000... you get the idea and it's been over a week now and guess how many donations we've gotten in????
NONE. I'm sorry, wha? Yep, your eyes aren't lying to you. That's an N an O an N and an E.
If by now you can't sense this post is drenched in sarcasm then... you clearly can't read.
Oh and just for fun... let's go ahead and document this - today is July 22, 2014. If we get ONE donation from our letter being sent out I will.... I need to think of something drastic but not too drastic on the off chance that I will have to do whatever I say I will do

Today is a BIG day
Tomorrow morning (which is today) our Grand Miracle Market
offices will open and start accepting applications from people who want
to sell in the market, which opens in September. We are very excited!
Meet the Metro Management Team of Villy, Orio and Saralla
who will be managing the market. The Lord has given us the right people
to manage our Grand Miracle Market. A special thanks goes to Jentezen
Franklin who, as of this month, has given his commitment of $1,000,000
to build the marketplace. Thank you Open Hand Ministries for providing
interest-free micro-loans to help Haitian families start their own
business in the new marketplace. Bobby
I can't believe Jentezen raised the million dollars - this is all so crazy! So hopefully in a very short time we will know exactly who we are funding and what they are going to sell so that we can get some of these entrepreneurs funded specifically.
Here is a picture of our office in the marketplace. Actually I think there is a 'lobby' receptionist area and then we have one of the offices behind the closed door. I think. Who knows!
Pretty cool huh? Now there is one thing left to discuss that Alisha and I haven't asked yet and it's a pretty big question - Umm.... do we need to be paying rent for this thing? I sure hope the answer is no but we need to figure that out. GULP.

Potato Salad
Hmm... wondering if I've gone crazy? Potato salad! What the heck does that have to do with anything? Actually, I really like potato salad, especially Walmarts version. In fact, I have a strange tendency to not eat pizza if I don't have potato salad to go with it. True.Story.
But my mind and heart is baffled right now. Actually, I might just cry. Check this out - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/324283889/potato-salad
Potato fu*king salad. WTF? WTH? and any other acronym that can properly display my feelings.
WHY is it that we are raising money to provide jobs so that parents can feed their children and not SELL them or sell themselves to provide for their children's basic needs and yet this dude who has never made potato salad in his life is now up to $45,000. Seriously? What is wrong with this world? When a dude can raise that kind of money for something so trivial, why, why can't we do it for something that is life saving?
I'm stunned. I'm discouraged. I'm beat down. The marketplace is set to open in the middle of September. We not only need 70,000 more but we will need the money for the salaries of our Haitian employees.
I just cant even begin to understand this.
